Larry Glick - WBZ Boston - June 30, 1977 (Part 6)

The start of hour number 4, Larry reads the weather, dates the show (Thursday June 30th, 1977), and does sports.

Then he takes calls from Todd, Ron (who has been listening to Larry for 12 years); Mary from Revere, Ma whose birthday is tomorrow July 1st (she was 73 in 1977). Larry sings Happy Birthday to Mary (with Charlie DiGiovanni on the harmonica).

“Shames” of Galek decent calls from Syracuse. They discuss the 1977 movie “A Bridge Too Far”. Shames says a few choice words from the movie, causing WBZ to delete a few seconds of the conservation.

Doctor Johnson a Podiatrist from Cleveland calls to say he’s moving his practice to Brownsville, Texas. Briefly WBZ fades out and another station fades in during the conversation. Larry asks Dr. Johnson if his patients wash their feet and wear clean socks to an office visit!

Dorothy from South Boston (Southie) calls to say her birthday was yesterday, Wednesday June 29th (1917). She says she doesn’t smoke or drink. Larry asks her if she ever, ahh, ever, ugh, pause- Dorothy quickly interjects that she never did “that” either. Laughs…Dorothy wants a T-Shirt from Larry. She whistles, but didn’t get the mystery singers name. But she guesses correctly “The Lone Ranger” clip.

Ed from Baltimore calls to tell Larry he shouldn’t have made Dorothy work so hard for that T-Shirt.

First time caller “Richey” says to applaud the Boston Police Dept for working the 4th of July weekend.

A commercial for CVS!
